Sheila Gould, VP with the mostest, again reserved the back room at Hickory BBQ on Rte 28 for our fun Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice, and Festivus event for a warm and happy holiday season and a healthy, fulfilling New Year. We, Sheila and I, are looking forward to seeing your festive attire, bringing something creative to share with all of us so that we get to know each other better (poetry, art, photography, story from your book, a song, story, joke, jewelry, pottery, craft, update on your life, idea or activist forward looking purpose/mission (self-care counts!)). UCWN traditionally skips a January formal event however with the potential friendships being sparked as a result of seeing one another at meetings, feel free to generate an activity with one or more women you know through the network and potentially start a formal or informal committee of UCWN (ad hoc gals night out for some movie, happy hour or community event like an art reception?)
Again, and again, and again, a big Thank YOU to backbone of UCWN, Leslie Snow, for her years of being president, webmaster, and keeper of the flame started by the founders of UCWN and predecessor groups, Faye Storm, Jade Moon, Kathy Nolan, Carol Super Gold, Melody Newcombe, Sydelle Freed, and all the officers, volunteer committee heads and friends of UCWN!
Wishes for a great turning of the year from growing darkness into growing light and all the bounty being birthed with the rest of winter’s time of repose to bud into a new cycle of life with the soon to come spring,
May Peace Be with All Beings,
Gloria Waslyn
