We all know that change is constant, so it should come as no surprise that we have a new Advisory Committee at the helm of UCWN.
Gloria Waslyn steps up as president, as Leslie Snow has stepped down. Sheila Gould has graciously accepted the role of vice president. These two join our relatively new committee members: Ann Marie Moloney as coordinator; Lisa Gredell as secretary and also Mailchimp administrator. Leslie Snow stays on temporarily as treasurer and website admin.
Gloria moved to Ulster County from Manhattan 10 years ago, has served in several positions of the Advisory Committee for the last nearly five years. She is a professional career and communications coach and consultant. She is founder and president of Parrots For Peace, a not-for-profit organization advocating for social and environmental justice with a family of blue and gold macaws. Gloria serves on several boards, most notably the Ulster County Democratic Party.
Many of you already know Sheila Gould as she has been involved with UCWN for more than 10 years. Sheila spent 35 years in the fashion industry as a product developer, a fashion and marketing executive for Federated Stores, Sears, Lord and Taylor, Avon, The Limited, among others. In 1980 Sheila started her own business, developing licensing with Lauren, Beene, Lacroix, and many first-time Chinese manufacturing and technology companies. She continues to serve in her role as community partners coordinator, reaching out to area businesses and services that help improve our quality of life.
Please join us in congratulating Gloria and Sheila in their new roles and pledging our support.
As always, we welcome any UCWN member to serve on the Advisory Committee and anyone at all to act as a dynamic duo to sponsor an event. To sweeten your service, past presidents receive lifetime membership; committee members receive one-year membership after a completed two-year term; and dynamic duos enjoy complimentary event fees. We always have a gift for event presenters, also.
