Ulster County Women’s Network invites you to a conversation with our legislators Manna Jo Greene (D-Rosendale) and Gina Hansut (R-Lloyd/Marlborough).
Tuesday, October 8, 2024
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) Regional Office
201 Stockade Drive, Kingston, NY 12401
Hear a brief overview on what the legislature is doing for senior and women’s issues. As this is a conversation, we can let them know about issues we think would make our lives easier. Rep. Manna is steeped in environmental issues and Rep. Hasut in law enforcement and public safety, as well as the environment. They are each very interested in the issues that confront our county’s senior population and senior women’s needs.
Bring your voices to the conversation. Every idea counts. Pet peeves can be transformed into meaningful awareness. Arms on chairs at doctor’s offices? Larger print for easier reading? Senior parking even if not handicapped?

Bios of Guests
Manna Jo Greene (D-Rosendale) facilitates the National Decommissioning Working Group, which meets weekly to share information that will promote the safest possible decommissioning of nuclear power plants. After serving as the Environmental Action Director for Hudson River Sloop Clearwater for 23 years, Ms. Manna retired in June of 2023 to work full-time on finding and implementing Climate Solutions. While at Clearwater, she helped coordinate congressional briefings and regional forums to educate community members and elected officials about nuclear waste. She helped to prevent the relicensing of the aging and increasingly dangerous Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant. She also helped to create the Indian Point Decommissioning Oversight Board. Most recently she helped develop a successful campaign to prohibit the discharge of radioactive waste water from Indian Point into the Hudson River.
Before coming to Clearwater, Ms. Manna served as a Registered Critical Care Nurse for 22 years and as Ulster County’s Recycling Coordinator/Educator for 10 years, helping to take the County’s recycling rate from 4% to 40% in less than a decade. Ms. Manna currently serves as an Ulster County Legislator on the Energy, Environment and Sustainability and Climate Smart committees, and is helping to develop an implementation plan to achieve 70% renewable energy generation by 2030, municipality by municipality, in Ulster County. She lives in Rosendale, NY, with her son, daughter-in-law, and 6-year-old grandson, Emmett.
