A talk and discussion led by
Ellen G. Goldman
National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach

Dynamic Duo: Randy Greene Mundi and Rachel Jackson

As restrictions related to the stay-at-home policies to stave off the spread of the coronavirus start to lighten, and we see the beginnings of a national economic reopening, we may be noticing a new set of emotions emerging. While excited to get back to our regular routines, we are also anxious as to how to do so while remaining healthy. Many of us find ourselves questioning the need to balance our physical well-being with our mental health. We are entering a “new norm,” which is shadowed with uncertainty and trepidation. This unchartered territory is leaving us emotionally exhausted and struggling to stay motivated, productive, optimistic, and sane.

Bring your cup of tea or beverage of choice for a talk on this topic on Tuesday, June 9, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. on Zoom. Our featured speaker Ellen G. Goldman will explain why it is reasonable to feel this way during these unique times and how to handle our personal emotional roller-coaster. Ellen will share with us tools to help create meaningful and purposeful days, despite the continually changing landscape and the uncertainty of our future. We will learn easy-to-implement daily tools to help us craft our day, reduce stress, and be healthy. By following her advice, we hope that when we are looking at COVID-19 through the rearview mirror, we can say that we survived and that we thrived.

Registration Required

This is a Zoom conferencing event. An email with a link to the Zoom event along with the correct meeting ID # and password will be sent to attendees after they register for this event.

We encourage members and friends who do not already use Zoom to download the Zoom app onto their computer (preferred), iPad, or smartphone. It is free of charge to obtain from the App Store. Zoom is arguably “the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing and allows webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephone and room systems.”

The much-publicized privacy issues with Zoom have been largely addressed by the developer to an extent that they are evidently no worse than Facebook’s issues currently (ads targeting). This is why downloading the latest version of Zoom that is available is crucial.

We believe Zoom will be widely used by individuals and businesses not only during this stay-home regime but also post-COVID-19, due to its convenience of use relative to its subscription cost. (It’s now free for non-subscribers who initiate a Zoom meeting room for up to 40 minutes.)

Those who do not feel comfortable downloading the app may still join the event by telephone. The Phone Numbers to Call into the conference event (audio only) will be listed on the Zoom invite which will also contain the Zoom meeting ID # and password. This will be sent to a participant soon as she registers on our website.

After hearing suggestions including through the recent member preferences survey conducted by Renaissance Research & Consulting courtesy of member Susan Metzger, UCWN plans to hold events on Zoom in addition to face-to-face ones once we reopen.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll join this digital platform soonest so you can continue to engage with other club members while we wait to be allowed to go out in the county.
