Artists’ Bios

See full biographies of all the artists here.

Jerilyn Babroff has worked in art for over 40 years. She makes contemporary, whimsical ceramics that sell in galleries and stores worldwide. They are in many private collections, as well as the Jewish Museum in NYC. These days she has been painting on canvas with acrylic paint with the same whimsy as her ceramics. She likes to bring out the moments in life that have passion.

Sara Beames, and her husband Michael, produce hand-made, fused-glass Judaica, home accessories and jewelry. Beames Designs! work can be found in galleries and craft shops throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, South Africa, Australia, and Japan, and in Special Collections. Their goal is to create artwork that is functional, aesthetically appealing and accessibly priced.

Liz Horn and Ron Zukor have been making jewelry professionally since the 1970s. Studies have included such places as Hunter College, fine arts, The Jewellery Workshop, The Arts Students League, The Craft Students League, Parsons School of Design, and The Fashion Institute of Technology.

Judith Kerman, a poet, has designed and created books, jewelry, and small sculptural objects over many years. Her work is sold on Etsy.com at MayappleArts, and at the Woodstock Art Exchange. She is publisher, editor and designer at Mayapple Press, a small literary press.

Lissa Queeney Matthews studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and worked as a designer at Van Cleef & Arpels. She works in gold, silver, precious and semi-precious gems and teaches at Hudson Valley Silverworks in Kingston.

Basha Ruth Nelson, sculptor and installation artist, received her M.A. from New York University. Her solo exhibitions include the Noho Gallery, 60 Washington Square East Galleries, and the Project Space (NYC), York College in Queens, NY, Woodstock Artists Association & Museum, Woodstock NY.

Shelley Parriott’s Color Field Sculpture®, from miniature interior wall pieces to large-scale interactive works, speaks of the dichotomy and integration between our physical and spiritual aspects and the transitory nature of form. Exhibited in NYC, throughout the Hudson Valley and the U.S., and Europe, her work has received numerous honors and awards.

Naomi Schmidt has been a graphic designer for more than 30 years, working on websites and print. She has also worked in watercolors, sketching and batik. She enjoys the creative potential of website design.

Gloria Waslyn’s family of blue and gold macaws have been the primary subjects of her documentary photography. Gloria was a VP of the Professional Women’s Photography Association in NYC for years before moving upstate. Her exhibitions throughout NYC and at the United Nations focused exclusively on the portraits of people holding the peace parrots at various peace, ecology, and educational events.
